Separate the stages
An RNG generates numbers intended to have statistical randomness. The Gambling Commission's technical glossary distinguishes this from mapping, which connects an RNG result to a game outcome, and scaling, which converts the output into the required range. These are related ideas, but they are not interchangeable labels for the entire game.
Use a simple illustration
Imagine a teaching diagram with three boxes: a number is produced, a rule connects it to an outcome, and the interface displays that outcome. The diagram does not reveal a real game's implementation. It simply explains why seeing animated reels tells a viewer little about the underlying mechanism or its verification.
Ask what a claim means
When a description says a game is random, ask which mechanism and evidence the claim refers to. Do not convert the term into an assurance about the operator's withdrawals, customer support, or every product it supplies. A precise definition narrows the question; it does not certify the service.
